Anti-Referred Law 16 ad debuts: Yesterday, the opponents of Referred Law 16 — Gov. Dennis Daugaard’s education reform law, known as HB 1234 in the Legislature, rolled out a TV ad urging a no vote on the measure.

You can watch it above.

The No On 16 campaign is being organized by the South Dakota Education Association, which ran the referral campaign.

Here’s the script of the ad:

Kate Hanson, Harrisburg teacher: I would never expect all of my students to all learn the same way, because I would never expect all of us teachers here at the school to all teach the same way, because we don’t.

Fran Linn, Rapid City teacher: Local school board members, local parents, local teachers, know what’s best for each of the students.

Jeremy Hurd, Hermosa principal: You can’t just say a one-size-fits-all approach works for every school, because that’s not the case.

Hanson: Please, vote no on 16. It is the wrong answer.
