Willard’s defense requests prosecution documents

R. Shawn Tornow, Daniel Willard’s defense attorney, has just filed a request for discovery in the state’s case charging Willard with violating election law by conducting robocalls without proper disclaimers.

I’ve embedded the document below. It seems a fairly standard, and entertaining, kitchen sink document, requesting among other things the criminal background history of blogger Pat Powers (who has covered the robocalls extensively) and any statements between investigators and a wide range of South Dakota political figures, including Dennis Daugaard, Tony Venhuizen, Dusty Johnson, Jason Gant, Tim Rave and Tony Post.

Legal-minded folk, is there anything unusual here?
