Willard indicted today in Lake County
Activist Daniel Willard was arraigned today on four counts of campaign finance violations stemming from last year’s political robocalls.
This takes the place of a preliminary hearing, which was previously scheduled for today.
Willard had already pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Willard’s attorney, R. Shawn Tornow, had expected the state would pursue an indictment.
Later today, Willard is scheduled to be deposed in the civil lawsuit over robocalls. My colleague John Hult is covering.
